Producer Note
Located in Yepes to the north of Toledo, this bodega was established in 2000 with the aim of producing wines which reflect the personality of the local terroir and microclimate through their unique character. The 100 hectares of vineyard are planted with Tempranillo, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Syrah, all chosen for their suitability for ageing and their well-defined character.
Vineyard
The vines are grown in vineyards located around the village of Yepes, in the province of Toledo in the Tajo River Valley. The soil has high calcareous content, with predominance of gypsum and a sandy loam texture. The vines are between 15 and 17 years old and benefit from the dry, warm climate which has an annual rainfall of approximately 400 millimetres per annum.
Winemaking
The two grape varieties were vinified separately in order to preserve the maximum character of each varietal. The wine was matured in barrels to achieve greater complexity.
Tasting Note
