St Aubin 1er Cru Murgers des Dents de Chien, Domaine Berthelemot, AOP St Aubin [Organic]

Rich and textural, a lovely expression of St Aubin from Domaine Berthelemot's most recent vineyard acquisitions. 

Production

Hand harvested Chardonnay from vines planted in 1990. The parcel is just over a third of a hectare with limestone soil and marl peppered with sharp stones, the 'dents de chien'. Fermented in oak barrels, 25% new, the malolactic fermentation follows naturally in the spring and the wine stays on its lees until bottling in June. 

Tasting Note

Reflecting the warmth of the 2020 vintage, this is already approachable and complete with forward ripe fruit, depth and richness from the oak and a complex, full palate balanced with some saline freshness on the finish.
